Not too long after I closed my eyes last night I had a dream that all the worlds people met in the middle of a clearing somewhere deep in the Amazonian forest. Vacuous but earthy, it was evident that this spot had never been considered in the mind of a human for millennia. After the last of our species had congregated, several moments passed filled only with the noise of our collective silence. I remember catching your scent from some distance away, and I remember migrating through the endless billions of bodies straight to you, who stood naked, alone and vibrant against the trunks of trees that made up a landscape we had never seen. I felt my step quicken as I headed to you, and as I reached for your hand the contours of your body began to blur into the nature that enveloped us. The colors of my own hands began to dilute and our bodies, together, began to liquefy. As I woke up from my slumbers, I stared as you slept next to me, and I watched the watercolors that made up our matter only a few moments earlier seep back into your skin. It was the first moment I realized that we were created from the same substance, and it was the last moment I resented you for holding me so tight and loving me so much.
